Eminent Personalities, Large Crowd Turn – Up As Kenny Adelabu Weds Taiwo Mabunmi In Ikorodu

It was a moment of joy for the families of Olukotun Emmanuel Olawale Adelabu and Otunba Gbolahan Mabunmi, FCA, as both joined their daughter and son, Kehinde Adenike and Taiwo Adeboye, hands in marriage.

The special wedding service held at The African Church Bethel Cathedral (ACBC), Ikorodu, last Saturday, witnessed a large crowd of family members, friends, associates and well – wishers that turned – up to honour the new couple and their families and the families, on their special day.

Rt. Revd. Hezekiah Adetoro, Bishop of The African Church Lagos West Diocese, led other men of God, that presided over the special service which lasted for about four hours.

The service was not just about tying the knot, but also a celebration of the couple by the choirs of ACBC which the bride is an integral member and the Prelate – The choir of Methodist Church Ikorodu, which the groom is also a member. The combined choirs entertained the new couple and the large audience with good numbers. The peak of their performances was when Kenny and Taiwo joined them in singing one of the songs during their wedding service.

Among the eminent personalities that were in attendance were Jagun Joseph Peluola, FCA, Jagun of Anko Eruwa, Asipa Samuel Oni, the Asipa of Eruwa, Prince Olabode Ogunleye, FCA, Baba Asato of The African Church Cathedral, Ikorodu, Sir Ayodele Elesho, the Agbaakin of Ikorodu, Prince Adebayo Ogunleye, the Baba Ijo, The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, Chief (Mrs) Olajumoke Abike Laleye , the Iya Ijo, The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, Omoba & Olori Odunfa, Dr & Comrade (Mrs) Timothy Okeowo, the Vice Lay President, The African Church Lagos West Diocese, Dr. & Mrs Kayode Bilewu and Sir Soji Onafowokan among others.

While the bride, Kenny Adelabu, a senior officer of The African Lads & Lasses Brigade, and his father, Olukotun Adelabu, were accompanied into the Cathedral and ceremonially ushered by the Lads & Lasses Brigade, the couple were escorted out of the Church by officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), an agency which the groom works with .

Earlier before the service, the traditional engagement ceremony where the two families were formally introduced and parents of the bride handed over their daughter to the family of the groom, took place at the ACBC hall.

The Crystal Club House at Adaraloye Street, Ikorodu, hosted the reception ceremony where family members and other guests were entertained with delicious meals, drinks and good music till late in the evening when the curtain was drawn on the memorable event.
